(I’m an American that lives in Canada. It’s a short but boring story, so I’m not getting into it here. My feelings today are are terrible jumble and everything is horrible. Also, like my last post, this isn’t really aimed at anybody on GT. It’s just a response to some things I’ve spotted on social media and encountered in person today and the days leading up to today).
I’m not opposed to my Canadian friends and neighbors having an opinion on American Politics. After all, what happens in my home country affects Canada. BUT…I am SO over Canadians running their mouth when they clearly don’t know what the fuck they’re talking about. If you want to share input on what has happened then you best have put in a bare minimum of time actually learning what’s what.
So, that said, here’s a brief open letter:
No. His VP is NOT “ok” or “good.” Saying “at least Pence is ok” or “it’s too bad Pence isn’t the nominee” just shows how unqualified you are to comment on American Politics.
No, Hillary was not “just as bad” as the-monster-whose-name-I-can’t-even-bring-myself-to-say-today. Acting like their individual mistakes and flaws were at all equivalent just shows how unqualified you are to comment on American Politics.
No, America is not the only North American country with a very real racism problem. Acting all shocked by America’s validation of racism and bigotry last night as though they’re the only ones who mistreat people who don’t fit the cis/white/het/male “ideal” just shows how unqualified you are to comment on American Politics and how hypocritical and ignorant you are regarding your own shit.
So, “sorry…” but…kindly shut the fuck up, eh?
