I'm looking for some advice, y'all!
I have acquired a new vehicle, so I need to sell my old wheels. I was rolling in an '05 Ford Focus, and it is a reliable commuter. I'm the sole owner, it has a clean title and 115,000 miles on it. It also has significant paint damage on the hood (stupid, fucking after-market hood) and has been in 2 accidents (one major, one fender-bender) and melted in a car fire (hence the after-market hood). The car was just serviced and I just paid the registration. The tires are less than a year old.
So, my questions to anyone who has bought or sold a car on Craigslist: Should I get a carfax printout? The major accident was in 2006 and did not cause enough damage to total the car, and it still runs well. If you bought or sold a car on Craigslist, was there much haggling over price? KBB says the car is worth $3850 in fair condition (which it is definitely in fair condition) and I have a mental number I don't want to go below, but I'd like to get this car sold fast. Was it weird taking your craigslist car for a test-drive? I gotta admit, I'm a little nervous about test-driving with a dude I don't know. I can ask Mr.Run to accompany us. Any Bay Area GTers in the market for a good commuter car? It's a 2-door hatchback and it has a moonroof. And power windows/locks. And a 6 cd changer!
Ok, thanks for helping me out! Vrrrrrrrooooooom!
