I've always had a soft spot for Anne Boleyn. Probably because I devoured The Other Boleyn Girl at the age of 15, but mostly because I find her story compelling. She worked so damn hard to make Henry put a ring on it and get her butt on the throne, only to have the whole thing end on the scaffold. But then her daughter ends up being one of the most bad ass monarchs that Britain ever saw, so there is a bit of redemption in Anne's story. I wish she could have lived in a time where her talents and ambition could be put to better use than seducing a spoiled king and trying to produce an heir.

I actually have a lot of sympathy for Catherine of Aragon, as well. Henry was such a needy, arrogant douche. Do any of you guys have historical soulmates?
