So I got posting privileges to GT! How 'bout that? I wish I could make my posting debut with something more interesting, but I've been pretty busy at work.
I'm an Old and a friend who is even Older is having an operation which will mean that he may not be able to see to get around for a few days and will have restricted movement for several weeks. Trying to find ways to entertain him that don't involve seeing stuff or being too active. He loves audiobooks. Because of our collective oldness, I am the only one of his friends who is remotely computer savvy, so I'm preparing to burn some audiobooks on CD for him.
Right now, I'm making CDs of Reza Aslan's new book, but I need suggestions for audiobooks and other forms of audio entertainment, preferably some kind of non-fiction page turner (so to speak). He does not have an ipod/ipad. His preferred genres are history, politics and economic advice. The last thing I gave him that he really, really liked was The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. Last year, someone mentioned a site where you good type in a book you like and would get recommendations, but I can't remember/find it.
