My therapist has been working with me on my anger about the lack of accountability regarding my parents. Not many people know all the grisly details (pretty much just Manstrophy). My therapist recommended that sharing and talking about it would help me, especially if people believed and supported me. I haven't made any friends here in CT yet, so I was thinking about writing an article for Jezebel on why bystander silence is so horrible. Basically, a lot of people saw pieces of the abuse throughout the years but never did anything. Their collective silence (and the silence of all bystanders to sexual assault, domestic violence, etc.) needs to be called out.
Is this inappropriate for Jezebel? What do you think?
