Things I have done in the last four days:
- Filled a carload’s worth of bags and boxes full of clothes, shoes and other household items and took them to the Salvation Army
- Filled 5(!) garbage bags full of old sheets, blankets, towels, etc. to donate to animal shelters (the woman who runs the daycare I take Buster and Sophie to works with a bunch of shelters, so she’s taking them to distribute where they’re most needed)
- Did 9 loads of laundry
- Went to the dentist (where I managed to nearly empty my flexible spending account in one visit — sigh) and scheduled an eye exam and a mammogram
- Made tapioca pudding (haters to the left — it is delicious, ridiculously easy and a fabulous way to use up aging milk)
I am feeling incredibly productive! And much less laden down with STUFF. For the first time in god knows how long, I know everything that’s in my dresser and closet, and I know that it all fits and nothing is stained/ripped/otherwise unwearable. I am no longer carting around a collection of high heels that I will never wear again just because they’re super cute. And I have no more stained sheets/sheets and blankets Sophie has chewed holes in (she is lucky I love her so much, damn it).
I’m almost certainly going to be moving over the summer, and I am so glad I’ll have so much less to pack (and unpack).
