Hooray, Sitting Won't Kill Us After All!

To everyone who insisted that everyone be standing all day all the time, I say

The study can be read here, and it suggests what should have been common sense all along: get up every half hour or so and move around for a couple of minutes. That’s all you need to do and you won’t ruin your body prematurely.


Goodness, you’d think spending a week with anyone who works in retail, a warehouse, or food service would have been more than enough to convince people that standing for extended periods of time is incredibly taxing on the body. Sitting all day isn’t great either, but getting up to touch your toes is really statisfying when you’ve been seated.
