I bought a new Lodge cast iron pan the other day. My first every cast iron anything. It said pre-seasoned. I cooked something in it and it completely stuck. I tried to boil water in it to unstick it. That didn’t work so I scrubbed it with salt (as the internets told me) but I think I was too aggressive and took off some (or a lot) of the pre-seasoning. When I wipe it with a damp paper towel it is very grey. I read I can try to get all of the seasoning off with the self cleaning cycle of the oven but also read about how bad that is for the oven so I’m afraid of that. I don’t want to start a fire. Should I just start seasoning over what is happening now? How do I get it cleaner?
