I got home from work today with an eagerly awaited package on my doorstep (well, actually, in my garage, but still). New speakers!! I've been surviving on my Macbook's built-in set for the past 6 months, so I couldn't wait to tear open that box and set these sweet things up.
And MYYYY GODDDDD what a difference a subwoofer and some mains power can make to a music collection! I'm now sitting here, blasting some music to see how much bass this set can put out, with a massive smile on my face. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind headphones or earbuds (particularly the Panasonic RP-HTX7, which are incredible for the price), but nothing beats proper speakers for enjoying music.
So, in an attempt to not make this all about me, I want to ask you guise how you enjoy your music?
Do you like headphones, earbuds, or speakers? Or maybe it doesn't matter, as long as they work?
Do you like to crank the bass up and let it shake the room? Or do you keep things more civil and sonically-balanced?
Do you prefer to listen alone, or in the company of others? At home, or on the go? Is your music collection massive and multi-genre, or do you (like me) have a smaller number of songs that you listen the hell out of before moving on?
What's your favourite genre? Least favourite?
Lastly, what's your guilty pleasure? The one song/album/artist that you would be embarassed to accidentally come on shuffle at a party? Mine (besides Coldplay, whom my SO thinks I should be ashamed of liking!) is probably the Alanis Morissette song "Come Clean", which I've liked since I was about 12, and still can't bring myself to delete from iTunes.
