Mr. Farce refers to Groupthink collectively as my "Little Internet Friends." I'm not sure why he uses the qualifier "little," but I like to think that he pictures us living in a tiny commune within the computer. He asked me the other day, as I was posting in the car on the way to the hardware store, if I'm always talking to the same people. Technically, yes, but also no. I tried to explain Groupthink to him, but the closest I got was, "chatroom, but better. And full of feminists and people who like pets," since we had pulled into the hardware store. Later, I expounded:

Essentially, I think of us as a like-minded collective who are also not afraid to challenge one another, support each other, and generally be nicer to each other than the actual world has demonstrated. (I left out the Drama Llama bits because that's a whole other ball of wax.)

Do you guys discuss GT with people in your life? How do you explain it? How do you explain your draw to participate? Or lurk? Or whatnot?
