Last weekend I decided to organize the four shoe storage boxes full of travel toiletries that I’ve been amassing since the first Clinton administration. I went through everything, tossing the old and sorting by categories, then putting in ziploc bags and throwing them all back into two shoe boxes. I’m not totally jazzed about this solution, so if you guys have any suggestions for improvement, please advise. And, yes, I do plan on using down the samples before they go bad. At this point, I don’t need to pay for body lotion until Chelsea Clinton’s kid is elected president.

Also during this little project, I stumbled upon several stashes of beauty samples (oh, the blessing and the curse of Sephora!). And this was on top of my official hoard that I kept under my bathroom sink. I decided I needed to both get it all organized and treat my self by actually using them. I ended up repurposing an acrylic tea bag organizer (kinda like this one) for any skin and haircare samples. Problem is, I still have a free makeup bag full of makeup stuff that wouldn’t fit. So, how do you guys organize samples? Wait, wait, don’t tell me — you... actually use them?

On a related note: what the hell ever happened to Caboodles?! I loved mine when I was in middle and high school. It was like a tackle box for makeup. It was the best!

FTR: So far, I’m a big fan of the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser and the Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer.
