I'm coming to terms with the fact that I don't have any taste. I'm not just talking about stuff that can be passed off with "oh, everyone enjoys different things". I'm talking about movies or TV shows or books where literally every single person that watches them agrees that they're awful.

I saw Glitter when it came out, and had no strong feelings for it, one way or another. I enjoyed it, I guess, it was pretty forgettable, but I know I didn't come out of it thinking "this is the worst movie I've ever seen, and possibly the worst movie of our generation". I agree when people say that, because it's embarrassing that I don't see it.

But friends don't trust my recommendations on stuff, because they know I suck at distinguishing between bad and good. So when I recommend Heathers to someone, they blow me off, because they know that I still watch Glee, and enjoy it legitimately, not ironically.

So how do I tell. Teach me how to figure out why something is universally bad.
