Holy fucking crap, GTers. I was excited about ObamaCare open enrollment, despite the fact that it was going to cost me between $250 and $300 a month for a pretty shitty plan, because I have so many health problems I was uninsurable on the individual market under the old system, and there are a few things I pretty desperately need to get help for and can't afford on my own.

Today I got a packet from my employer (I'm contract, so I don't get benefits), saying that because because of the provision of ObamaCare that states companies have to provide insurance for all employees who work more than 30 hours a week, I'm not only eligible for their excellent health care plan, I'm eligible at the normal employee rate of $31.50 a month. This not only covers many, many more providers, the deductibles and co-pays are less than a third what I would have been paying even under the most expensive individual plans I was considering.

I can't even tell you how much of a difference this is going to make for me. I'm literally sitting here crying at my desk because I'm so happy and relieved.
