So it’s a bit early for fall shopping, but I want to get a new pair of black boots. Usually I tend to buy cheaper shoes/boots, and then wear them until the wear poorly/fall apart/getting peed on too many times (I had an elderly cat that liked to pee on fabric boots, but he scampered over the rainbow bridge a couple years ago). But in the past couple of years, I’ve had a lot of foot/ankle problems, so I’m thinking it might be worth splurging on some more expensive, high-quality boots that will last longer and hopefully be more friendly too my sad, messed-up feet (I will, of course, need to put orthotics in them).

I did a little online browsing, and the two brands (La Canadienne and Fluevog), that have been recommend as good high-quality shoes/boots are EXPENSIVE! La Canadienne is just too pricey (they seem to be in the $500ish range). A lot of the Fluevog stuff is also too pricey, but there seem to be some sale stuff that’s closer to my price range. Of course, with them and others, all the sale boots I’m really in love with aren’t available in my size (8.5-9).

Anyway, here’s what I found so far that I’m admiring or considering. If anyone else has suggestions on brands/specific styles, let me know! I’m looking for black, knee-high boots with a chunky 2 inch-ish heel.

These are the boots from Fluevog on sale that I’d want, but they aren’t available in my size :(

These are the right price, the right size, right size heel, and probably the best option for me out of the Fluevog boots... but I just don’t find them exciting.

These are also a good price/in my size, and I like that they look very Victorian. But I’m not sure how I feel about that heel...

These are not on sale, and definitely more pricey than I want to spend. But I think they’re really cute, and they are definitely my style!

And if I had $600 to burn on frivolous boots, I’d buy this pair. But I’ll have to be content with just dreaming about them.

Please post suggestions for good quality, cute boots! Or boots you want to buy/dream of buying if you had the budget for frivolous cute things!
