"Taking personal offense is not an injury that warrants invoking the power of the courts to shut down everything you disagree with. The Constitution is not a personal tool for censoring everyone's beliefs but your own."
Who said this? you might ask. Well, no, I'm sorry to disappoint, but it wasn't the good folks opposing the Hobby Lobby douchebros or anything so unironical. This quote is from some spectacularly dudebroish lawyer representing some spectacularly dudebroish Christian organization in a lawsuit against some atheists. (Here's the fox news version of the story - sorry.)
I'm not concerned about the lawsuit from which this lawyer is quoted. Not the point here.
The point is this: Read that quote. Then go read the arguments posited by Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Woods.
Are you back?
Please tell me you see the irony and the hypocrisy and that I'm not the only one falling apart in horrible gales of bitter laughter.
ETA: Fucking mobile Kinja is not loading any of my hyperlinks. I'm irritated. I'm visiting my parents right now and they live in a place with shitty cell towers and I can't get pages to load on my phone.
