So, some background: On a whim, took a lead. Got in contact. Today got the "Ok, let me get this sorted out then we'll start this." It's a research position. I would be looking through documents.

I don't know how the fuck to do this in the big leagues.

I've done this for my own academic career. I've done this for a professor friend.

What I've done before was

  1. Get the source.
  2. Go through the source.
  3. Take basic notes.
  4. ???
  5. Synthesize.
  6. Further ???
  7. BAM

So, that...is not the best way to start things. Wandering in blind. I mean, when I contacted the guy I was confident in my abilities. Now I'm questioning myself. Just asked if he's looking for something specific, but I'm all...I'm all "Am I able to do this?"
