I am taking a class this year that I was really intimidated by. A graduate level class, Feminism and the Law.
You see where this is going, don't you?
Anyways. I was basically not at all prepared for this course. I want to learn about this, but I am coming from very little base academic knowledge. I keep my mouth shut in class.
Until today. Today, I rocked it. Today I was ON FIRE.
The topic? Rape trials. Consent. Rape myths and phallocentric culture. Victim blaming.
I was so prepared for this topic because of you! Because here we engage in nuanced discussions, and help each other grow. Because you guys are so eloquent in your points, and reference things to give context, and allow for other voices. Because, in short, you are all AWESOME.
So, thank you for teaching me. I have a long way to go, but I was so proud of myself today, being able to engage in that type of discussion and actually contribute ideas of value (all of which we've discussed on here before!!). Thank you thank you thank you!
