It is 4:10pm on Wednesday, and my boss just walked in the door. We run payroll every Wednesday, and they have been doing this for 16 years. Payroll is supposed to be done at 5:00pm, but he is always getting in late which means I end up staying anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours late. The only reason I have to stay is to proof the time cards, and distribute the checks. This takes at most 15 minutes. The later I leave, the worst traffic I get, and the longer it takes me to get home. It also means all the field workers who come in to pick up their checks end up having to wait.
I really like my boss, but his total disregard for other peoples time is frustrating. We used to get payroll done no later than 4:00pm and I was out of here by 4:30. These days I’m lucky to make it out of here by 5:30.
Does anyone else have any work related annoyances?
