Since I sew, recently I’ve been looking at making more of my own clothing and steering clear of ready-to-wear stuff. (Doesn’t help that I’m a size 14/16 and a lot of the stuff in my size feels so....meh.) One of my recent pattern obsessions has been Gretchen Hirsch, who designs ‘Patterns by Gertie’ for Butterick, runs her own blog, and has two books out on sewing (that I *reallyreally* want!). On a whim, I took a look at her designs on Butterick’s site, and this pattern jumped right out at me. I’ve decided I need it in my life when I have more money.
I love her stuff. I own this blouse pattern already, and found making a blouse with it is largely super-easy. My only quibble is even the higher-sized patterns only go up so far in measurements, so some sizing up may be necessary to get the right measurements for you. But they’re fun to work with.
