Gonna put in some line breaks so Oscars spoilers aren't in the preview:

Okay, we cool? Okay.

I really wish I could say I'm surprised that Jared Leto won an Oscar for playing a collection of stereotypes about trans women.
I really wish I could say that I'm surprised that he gave only the most passing and vague of lip service to the trans community (off of whom he is profiting) in his acceptance speech.
I really wish I could say that I think a lot of people in Hollywood tonight aren't patting themselves on the back for helping create such a sympathetic, endearing trans character.

But I can't say any of those things. Even the nominally "liberal" crowd in Hollywood still has a long way to go, when it comes to trans representation.
