I've been texting a guy from ok Cupid for about a week now, and he seems nice enough, but there's one think really getting to me. He uses non-standard emoticons in conversation.
I don't mind emoticon use, I use them myself. But to me this is happy :-), this is sad :-(, this is skeptical :-/, etc. This guy uses, pretty much exclusively, c:, :o, and :L. I don't even know what the last one means! And I would assume :o is meant to be a surprised face, but that doesn't make any sense in the context he uses it. Like just now, he texted "whatcha up to this weekend :o"
It genuinely driving me crazy, and I can't help but feel like this is the stupidest reason ever to be annoyed. But dammit, a lowercase c is not an appropriate replacement for a parenthesis!
