Every time I travel I come to you guys for help and you have always come through with excellent honest advice and tips. So I come to you again to ask about the UK.
We’re heading there in late March/early April. We’ll be in the UK for 7 full days and the day we land we’ll be there at 9am so we’ve got most of that day as well. The last day we’re there until 3-ish.
We want to do a day trip to Paris on the Eurostar (that’s a thing we’ve been reading about-is that a good way to get to Paris?) and we want to try to go to Scotland for an overnight (we know the train trip up there is like 5 hours so we’re going to try to leave really early like at 5am). We’ll be in the UK for 7 full days and the day we land we’ll be there at 9am so we’ve got most of that day as well. The last day we’ll be there until 3-ish.
We’re staying in the Covent Garden/West End area. The internet says it’s safe to walk around after dark-is that really true? We’re two women traveling-one in her 60s and the other in her 30s.
So what to do while in England?? We’ve never been there before and don’t mind touristy stuff as we are tourists! (like we are definitely taking pictures in front of Buckingham Palace and seeing the Tower of London and whatnot). We also like seeing historical stuff and England is chock full of that.
But if there are things you think we should do, good places to eat, things to avoid-please advise!
