I’m strangely into the World Series this year and I don’t know how I feel about it. My in-laws are huge Cubs fans (like, my parents-in-law make a vacation out of spring training), and my husband occasionally gets free tickets from work so I’ve gone a few times. It’s okay. I don’t watch all that closely, and the beer is too expensive, but whatever. (I actually want to make it to a White Sox game at some point because the stadium is nice and also walking distance from my house.)

I guess my in-laws’ enthusiasm is infectious, because I’m enjoying this. It’s fun. I feel like I’m being disloyal to my family (Red Sox fans) and myself (not a baseball fan) and I feel sort of like a hypocrite, but whatever. It’s a good excuse to go through our archive of limited edition local beers and crack some open and enjoy them. But I sort of shocked myself when I was leaving my dance class last night and checked the score on my phone and was actually excited to zip home in my fancy press car and watch the rest of it.

It should be a fun weekend (of feeling like a hypocrite).

Now if only my husband could get free tickets to the Bulls’ season opener against the Celtics tonight. Now THAT I would be really into.
