Do people from Minnesota actually talk like this? (ETA - I thought it was happening in Fargo which the innernet tells me is in North Dakota).
Because this is how people sound when they make fun of Canadians even though I have literally never heard a Canadian talk like this. I've heard Canadians with a half dose of that accent, maybe, and some First Nations people with the stereotypical American Indian accent (less the booming sombreness because that's just lies) but that's as close as it comes. The diction isn't entirely incorrect, though we do say 'eh' instead of 'there'. We don't do the 'yah' thing... My grandma from Germany does so I notice when others do.
