Let’s talk about our favorite types of bread, the kinds that brighten up bad days. I have narrowed it down to these three (in no particular order, served warm with butter, of course):
- pão francês - It literally translates to “French bread” in Portuguese and is the most common bread that people eat daily. My favorite way to eat it is on my way home from the bakery. It’s crispy on the outside and doughy/buttery/warm on the inside. Perfect comfort food.
- croissants: the French are masters of pastry, and this bread is basically a pastry in bread form. Pure, melt-in-your-mouth genius. I love it in all of its forms.
- ciabatta rolls: I don’t know what it is about this bread that makes it perfect for sandwiches, but this is the only kind of sandwich I want to each these days: tomato slices, fresh mozzarella, basil pesto, ciabatta roll.
