I’m writing my first post here in a while just to say avoid the Lay’s Greektown Gyro chips. It’s one of the current special “Do Us A Flavor” varieties, and it’s not that great. I know some people are pretty gung-ho about trying the new, weird flavors, but to be honest, I had kind of forgotten about them until I saw a display of them at Walgreen’s last night. I bought a small bag to snack on; the chips are decidedly not very gyro-like, although I suppose the overall taste of a gyro is hard to distill. The chips mostly tasted vaguely like tzatziki sauce, so like sour cream/yogurt and herbs? They probably would have been better dipped into actual tzatziki sauce. The kicker is the *aftertaste* of the chips was eerily similar to ramen, which in my opinion, is one of the worst aftertastes in the history of food. Blech.
