The father is a scumbag by using his position as a father to have incest with his daughter. That is a gross distortion of family love.

The backstory makes it a bit interesting. The daughter was put up for adoption then found her father and his wife when she was 18. It turned incestious and they have a child.

Now to me she is the victim here. I have a hard time wrapping around my head incest can be consentual ie no abuse of power. Yet both the father and daughter are being charged for incest. So law enforcement must think its consentual.

I am not sure where child endangerment comes in. Is the endangerment solely due to the child a product of incest? I do not know.

I know fauxcest in the porn industry is quite popular showing adult children and parents involved in incest but that’s all make believe. I wonder at times if this is having a societal affect where its normalizing it. I believe it should not be normalized but a part of me wonders am I moralizing.

So we have a situation where since father and daughter are both arrested I assume the police and prosecutor considers this a consentual relationship. If it is (which I doubt its the very least an abuse of power) should it be illegal? I find it morally wrong and an abuse of power. Yet if it was siblings or cousins in a similar situation ie meeting as adults would I be this outraged?

Yet if incest is totally consentual I have to state parent child I have a hard time accepting its ever consentual. Siblings meeting as adults I can accept possibility of consent. I assume there may be siblings who grew up together in consentual adult incestual relationships.

Yet part of me asks myself “am I any better then those who condemned same sex relationships? If these folk have a consentual adult relationship who am I to condemn them due to my definition of what is moral?”.

Thoughts? In this case my instincts tell me the father used the daughter and manipulating her. Although that’s does not appear how the law sees it.

Yet I think this case can be a starting point for a broader discussion about adults and incest.
