Thank you so much for all the good interview wishes! It seemed to go really well—it's pretty much exactly what I was doing before, and they seemed very excited by some of my skills and experience, so here's hoping. It is contract, and it's a long-ass drive, but it's open-ended with a possibility to convert to full-time, and audio books are a thing that exist in the world :-) Also, very casual environment and dress code, which is huge for me.
They said they should let me know within a week or so—please continue to cross your fingers!
ETA: Oh, I forgot! The job I interviewed for turned out to deal mostly with internal car-company training materials (I'm a copy editor, and I spent nearly the last decade working on training manuals, so good fit!), and at one point I said something about not knowing a whole lot about cars, and the guy who'd be my boss if I was hired said, "Oh, you will." That has to be a good sign, right? RIGHT?
