You guys...I love my job. It is frustrating, tear-your-hair-out, seemingly-impossible work. I typically put in 10-11 hour days and sometimes bring work home with me. I work for 6-7 hours every other weekend. I barely get paid enough to feed myself after rent and student loans. My job performance is judged on how OTHER individuals perform. I deal with blood, tears, snot, teeth falling out, diarrhea, vomit, and boogers. My brain is going at 100% all day long that sometimes I forget to pee. Sometimes I don't even get a break to pee. It. Is. Grueling. AND I LOVE IT! I love going in every day and I never mind staying late. I ASK to go in on the weekends whenever possible. I work with the most incredible young minds you could imagine. I spend my extra money on treats and supplies for work. I feel so, so lucky to be doing a job that I love. I teach gifted 1st graders.
GT threads tend toward the negative, and don't get me wrong, I love a good bitch sesh. But is anyone else feeling extra thankful for an awesome job today? What do you do? How hard did you have to work to get to where you are now? How good do you feel about yourself at work?
