This is a follow-up to this post from earlier.

¡Ay, dios mio, GT! Look at how many of you I'm up against in winning at winning a second language! Some of you are even practicing/acquiring a 3rd or 4th language!

If you'd like to join the ranks of our most cultured GTers, please sign up for Duolingo. It's a free language-learning application and can be used on your regular computer, iThing, or Android. The language offerings include Spanish, French, Italian, German, and Portuguese.

If you already have a Duolingo account and want to play with us under your Kinja name, you can change your screenname in the settings.

Above is the most recent list of GTers I'm following on Duolingo and they are ranked by how awesome they are at learning their language. To add some friends, just click the + sign next to the word "leaderboard" and search for someone by her/his screenname. If you get a notification that someone is following you, you won't be following them until you select the option to do so.

I'll be updating us on our language winning on a weekly basis from now on. Since it's getting pretty crowded in my list of friends, I'm going to show only the top 20 winners of the week. If you want to be added to our friends lists, just invite the people on the list and/or let us know your screenname in the comments.

FYI: If you already know a language or are re-learning one you've lost and are using this as a refresher, you're totes still eligible for the competition! You all will serve as great motivators for those of us who are less skilled. In my case, I had 5 years of formal instruction in Spanish when I was in middle and high school, but haven't maintained my skills since. I'll be giving honorable mentions to n00bs who have made significant gains over a week. Also, feel free to brag about your progress in the comments, especially if you succeeded in using your new skills IRL. Remember, this isn't about becoming more worldly or making your brain grow, this is about WINNING!

If you don't feel like adding all of us, but want to be eligible for the top 20 list, just add me, NYCyclist!

Remember, if you want to rub your language winning in people's faces, you have to make it to the top 20; otherwise, no one cares, especially Bobby...

¡Hasta luego, bishes!
