My sister was having her second child. But the baby got tangled in the umbilical cord, and now there is no heartbeat.
Apparently the baby had been sitting sideways, and my sister's Doula send her to a chiropractor who turned the baby. The baby, who had been described by ultrasound technicians as being "extremely active" apparently turned herself back around and they think this is how she got all tangled up.
My parents are going down to Ohio tomorrow. Tomorrow is the first day of school for me, so I don't quite know what to do here. It's not like I can easily take time off in the first week, and I wonder if we'd just end up being more underfoot than anything. I guess I'll wait and see what my parents say after they are down there. Maybe go on the weekend, and take Monday off to travel back.
