Can I take a moment to gush about my favorite band? Camera Obscura has really come a long way, and I'm so happy for their success in the US and beyond. Listening to NPR, I heard them interviewed for their latest album Desire Lines.I learned a lot of things, among them being that Traceyanne Campbell, lead singer, is expecting. I'm so happy for her!
Here is a link to the interview. I really really really want to buy Desire Lines either on itunes or at stores right now. Heck, I might buy the album tonight. Pandora has been spoiling some parts of the album for me, but I of course would still pay money for the music. This is my favorite song from the album so far from what I've heard:
The best video I could find was a live recording, so here you go.Granted, Lets Get Out Of This Country is my favorite album, but I had that figured out only after the fifth listen. I'm even warming up to My Maudlin Career as I listen to it more. It's not that their music has gotten worse, but their music has changed. That can be expected from a band that has been around since the 90s.From the interview, I got a sense that they are constantly experimenting and collaborating and moving forward.I can't wait to see where they go in the future, especially as lives take even more twists and turns.
