I was readng this and thought I bet her grandmother was from my late grandmother’s generation. That thinking was so shameful yet commonplace by too many white folk. I can so picture my late grandmothef (mother’s mother) doing the exact same thing. I can also picture her adoring the grandchild. The grandchild being seen not from the daughter and husband but by the daughter solely.

I suspect her story (minus the Lee angle) is commonplace not just then but also today.

I loved her weekend show and wish she would get a new series. Replace Nicole Wallace with her would be awesome.

It is curious how much she seems to love her grandmother very much even though she ignored her father.
