13-year-old Mo'Ne Davis led her little league team, from Philly, to a spot in the Little League World Series, by pitching a 3-hit shutout against their league's defending champion this past Sunday, striking out six while doing so. She becomes the 17th girlperson to participate in the LLWS since its inception nearly 70 years ago.
Her team faces off against South Nashville, the Southeastern regional representative, on Friday. I hope South Nashville is watching game tapes, they're gonna need it.
Her fastball routinely hits 70 mph on the radar gun. "Throws like a girl," indeed.
