Living with a professional chef used to intimidate me

I used to get crazy anxious whenever I cooked for my boyfriend, because he's a legit pro chef and has been for over ten years, but now I'm having fun with it.

Last night I made a jazzed-up version of Kraft Mac & Cheese and sausages wrapped in Pillsbury crescent rolls. I sliced the sausages down the middle and stuffed half a Kraft single in each sausage before wrapping them in crescent dough.


For the mac, I added an extra tablespoon of butter, an extra 1/4 cup of half & half, and I added 1/2 cup of a blend of white cheddar, fontina and parmesan cheeses.

It was hilarious because my boyfriend has no idea how to cook like this. He's never even done the dogs wrapped in crescent rolls thing! He seemed a bit mystified.

And I present this over-exposed Martha Stewart style food photo. The black is pepper because I love mac & cheese nailed with pepper.

I cook like a child, sometimes, but that shit was TASTY!
