Dear fount of all knowledge, I know there's been general make-up posts, but I want advice for ME, goddammit! That, and I just get overwhelmed but the fifty million options in the comments. I just received a Sephora discount card and decided it's time to splurge on some basics. (And by "splurge", I mean "spend moderate but not obnoxious amounts of money".) Mainly, the following:
1) Foundation. I've only ever used stuff like Nivea or Maybelline and am clueless. All I know is that a)I'm fricking pale, b)I have dry skin, c)I don't have big blemishes but I do have huge pores (ack!) that I'd like to hide, d)I turn red in the face after drinking, when I'm cold, when I'm hot, when I'm speaking in class...you get the point. So something that would allow me to not look like Southpark Satan in party pictures but also wouldn't make my skin flakey-dry would be the bomb.
2) A magical anti-wrinkle supercure. As said, I have very dry skin, and as a result I'm getting pretty intense crow's feet and cheek-wrinkles (yes!) at 28. I also get puffy around the eyes, although I'm guessing I should get something more specialized for those.
3) Other awesome beauty staples that will give me a smooth, well-moisturized, and non-saggy-tired complexion. As said, I'm clueless, so I tend to go after shiny things. I have more lipsticks, eyeshadows, and nail polishes than I could ever use, but my beauty routine consists of slapping on cheap moisturizer, foundation, and powder. Things like highlighters or whatever it is celebrities use to look divine fill me with anxiety, but I'm beginning to think it might be a path worth pursuing - I only have so many semi-hot years left! Just...let's start with something easy, okay?
