Anyone make anything cool lately?

Even though it’s only October we put up a tree. It’s because we have to make so many things to put on it so we need someplace to put them. I’m calling it a Halloween Harry Potter tree right now.

So far we’ve made a massive cauldron, put the sorting hat on, installed the train track (the train still needs to be modified into the Hogwarts express) put a ribbon garland on, put Scabbers on, and I hung a sample spider and sample mini cauldron. The kids will finish the cauldrons and putting hooks on the spiders when they get home from school today.

The cauldron is sitting on black plastic because the paint is still drying. It will get batting to hide the stand and mimic steam.

Later in the week, they’ll make parchment scrolls and quills that look like they’ve been dipped in ink. One of the adult kids is going to make the howlers. I have the keys to make flying keys. Still trying to decide on how we’re making the wings. That just leaves 20 some other ornament designs to figure out. There is also going to be a dobby peaking out from behind the tree. I think I’m going to use this mask and then make a body.

Because I had extra ribbon, I made a massive bow.

There is a ten foot folding table that we’re using for crafting that will probably live in my living room for about a month.
