Anyone here dealing with weight due to PCOS issues? When PCOS hit me 2 years ago I had a sudden, significant weight gain (I think about 30lbs in the span of 1-2 months). That on top of about 20lbs of weight creep after a knee injury kept me from being active means I'm about 50lbs above what I'd like to be. I hoped that breastfeeding would melt weight off of me (like all those f'ing lying liars who lie insist, those liars) but I have not budged a pound. I ended pregnancy the same weight as I went in.
I've had fasting glucose blood tests but they turn up nothing and from what I've read, PCOS-related insulin issues often don't turn up with blood tests. The GP is considering referring me to an endocrinologist but I CBF.
Everything I'm reading suggests that a low GI or diabetic diet is very helpful to managing PCOS so I'm going to see what adjustments I can make. I generally eat pretty well just by virtue of being a dirty hippie vegetarian but I'm going to try to make a few adjustments.
Anyway, I'm a massive geek about nutrition & vegetarianism, so I have an idea of what to do, but I'm just interested in other people's experiences. I know it's a bit of a niche question but GT is vast, so...anyone here have PCOS or diabetes and eat a vegetarian diet?
