Leave it to Margaret Atwood to weave some fascinating and endearing personal anecdotes (about her much younger *colonial* self hoping to get a foot in the door of the literary world) into a lovely and moving tribute to Doris Lessing, without making it all about herself. A very worthwhile read, indeed, and not candy-coated, either, with respect to temporary ideological missteps on Lessing's part.
