My psychiatrist and I agreed that taking a day off my meds once a week when possible is a good thing. Mainly because it forces me to relax and not do things that require concentration. Although some days i get a bit anxious about all the stuff i'm not getting done. But as mrchien and my therapist remind me, i need to self care better. So today was my med break day. (This is why i've been starring more than commenting...)

Anyways, i was explaining this to a friend and she got really concerned. I guess on her meds she needs to take them every day and they have to build up. My anxiety meds are like that, but i'm on such a low dose that skipping a dose isn't going to harm me, unless i'm going through a really rough patch. I tried explaining that ritalin is different, but i wasn't quite getting through. I think it's my fault though, when i'm off meds my other learning disabilities aren't as well managed. But if all i'm doing is reading stories, playing with yarn and watching TV it's not a big deal. My hubs and close friends have all figured out how to best communicate with me during those times.

So... am I the only weirdo on here that takes med breaks from her brain meds? Any other ADHD'rs on here that take different meds, do you get to take breaks? Which reminds me that i need to get back in a regular routine of movement...
