The September issue of Marie Claire magazine is dedicating a story to young Native American women fighting to preserve their nations' cultures in the United States. Some of their stories are highlighted online, with more to come in the print issue. Many of the stories highlight the women's individual efforts towards preserving languages, promoting education, and spreading culture through music and poetry. The pictures are pretty incredible as well, showing these women in both traditional and Western clothing, and in a variety of settings. Check out the summaries and some of the images at the link.
