Hey, guys! I thought it’d be nice to have a place to share the things that are getting us through the mental health difficulties of... well, living now.
As some of you might know, last year I decided to get serious about my meditation practice. I began a daily practice (today is day 219!) and at the start of 2020, decided to incorporate a second daily meditation (that one’s... not gone as well, lol).
I know meditation isn’t for everyone but it’s really helped me to calm down and even sleep better. The app I use is free and they also have a website where you can listen to most of their library for free, too—I thought y’all might be interested: https://insighttimer.com/
They have guided meditations, timed “blank” meditations, meditative music, and even lectures. Recently, folks’ve uploaded lots of meditations and talks to help with fear and anxiety around coronavirus. Just use their search function.
And listen, I am still anxious, and scared, and feeling down. I’m not going to tell you that meditating every day has solved all my problems. But, for me, it helps.
What have you been doing to keep yourself going and feeling ok?
