So today I found myself in my old neighbourhood, and dropped by a local Mexican place. The owners are originally from Mexico City. They make this wonderful sandwich they call a Milanesa. It is marinated steak, guacamole, cheese, with cilantro on a lovely toasted bun.

I've been looking for the recipe online, but the only Milanesa sandwich, I could find online is from South America, and involves breaded meat like a veal parmesan.


Anybody have any clue? Or is this just a quirk of the restaurant? I wanted to ask about it today, but they were crazy busy, and I didn't want to bother them.
