So I can't afford the second semester, and won't be getting credit this spring. I talked to my German prof and he's going to let me just come to class and keep brushing up so that I'm not starting at the beginning again next fall, by which time I am hoping to have a scholarship in order.
And I have the same arrangement with a math and English class. So now instead of paying a lot of money to stress about not being entirely sure that I can do this, I can just go to the basics courses, spend no money, and invest in classes I am taking because I want to later. In the meantime I can learn things without pressure. It's one of those silver linings that might be better than the original plan.
Going to school for free and no credit is awesome!
