The making of a good compilation tape is a very subtle art. Many do's and don'ts. First of all, you're using someone else's poetry to express how you feel. This is a delicate thing.
So I'm in the middle of making mixtapes for my boyfriend. Yes, actual cassettes. Boy doesn't have a CD player in his car, and he's driving 300ish miles and back again next week so he can see a band with his friend... and he's sick of the three tapes he owns, so I thought I'd surprise him with several hours of music he loves on tape.
Anyway, it got me thinking. I used to make mixtapes (or mix CDs) ALL THE TIME when I was younger, but this is my first in about three years. I wonder if I make less now because I'm older, or if it's something to do with how technology has advanced? What do you think?
When was the last time you made a mixtape (or CD/ flash drive/ wax cylinder)?
