Hey everybody, the moon is at perigee right now, which is the closest point in its orbit, which is pretty close to circular anyway, so the difference is only a few tens of thousands of miles, but whatever, it's the SUPERMOON. Maybe it's not that much bigger and brighter than usual, but it's definitely big and bright as hell right now. I had to take these pictures with a polarizing lens on the telescope eyepiece, and it would definitely roast my eyeballs if I tried to look at it unfiltered. It's almost a little uncomfortable just to stare at directly.
