As a child and through college in the 1980s this was comic strip I always read then I got bored with it. We rarely get the local newspaper now so I am not sure how good it still is.

When I read he died my first picture in my mind was not Beetle but rather Miss Buxley. She started out as someone innocent but treated as a sex object by the leering general then in the 1990s she became a competent secretary to the General.

I always thought she had some of the best one liners in the strip and became I think the most memorable character. Sometimes I wonder why Mort never changed the name of the comic to Miss Buxley.

Anyone read this strip? How is it with the sons taking over?
