U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller warned that Russian intelligence services still have active ā€œinterference operationsā€ into U.S. elections and that handing over certain evidence in a criminal case could imperil ongoing investigations.

Mueller on Tuesday asked a federal judge in Washington for an order to protect voluminous evidence sought by lawyers for Concord Management and Consulting LLC, one of three companies and 13 Russian nationals charged in a February indictment alleging election meddling via social media. Prosecutors have uncovered evidence of other individuals and entities who are ā€œcontinuing to engageā€ in similar activities.

Iā€™m honestly worried about how this will go. Absolutely no one in our government is fighting for the American people at this point. The Supreme court, congress, and the senate are compromised. No one is doing anything to stop this exact type of propaganda spreading - not the government or the tech companies where they do it. They are not even spreading awareness.

Hereā€™s a reddit thread where people discuss the uptick in Russian troll activity on the platform -

Thereā€™s a /r/politics troll who just ā€˜woke upā€™ after a year of inactivity. Has a pro-Sanders username, but spends all his time here promoting Trump. (Wonā€™t link him because itā€™s against the rules.) And then thereā€™s this story about how /r/RussiaLago was attacked by a sophisticated group, one capable of marshaling hundreds of hacked accounts and evading the spam filter.

Iā€™m definitely getting 2016 vibes on Reddit again.

For those who donā€™t use the site, during the 2016 election political reddit subs were pretty much unusable. To be fair, most of reddit is unusable. But Iā€™ve found good spots in places like r/politics, but that completely, obviously changed during the 2016 election.

Yes, there were and continue to be bitter Sanders fans, but the Russians were just blowing that up even more. Anything to cause infighting. And now itā€™s starting again. Iā€™m a pretty casual user of reddit, and even I notice it. I post about Buzzfeed way too much (cause thatā€™s my favorite time waste site) on here, and Iā€™ve seen it there in the facebook comments. Pretty much any article someone swoops in to shit on liberals for absolutely no reason. Or make something thatā€™s not political...about politics. Iā€™m not sure if theyā€™re gearing up for the mid-terms or what, but it does seem to be happening more lately.
