As a thirtysomething, there are a few songs from my teen years that I still unabashedly adore. What are the songs you still love and have loved for years/decades/millenia (for our vampire/fairy/elf members)?
1. Nine Inch Nails: The Perfect Drug. This has been one of my absolute favourite songs since I was 16 or 17. I first heard it when my friend and I were able to sneak into Lost Highway (underage FTW!) and I've loved it ever since. I've always thought it was terribly romantic in a very obsessive way which I loved as an angsty teen. That whole soundtrack is amazing by the way.
2. Our Lady Peace: 4 am. I really related to this song and as I was highly suicidal at the time, I thought it was a decent substitute for a suicide note. Dramatic, I was.
3. Garbage: #1 Crush. I still listen to this song on a regular basis. Fell in love with it on the Romeo & Juliet soundtrack and fell in love all over again when it was used again for the shortlived supernatural series Hex (which you should all go out and watch. Fassbender as a fallen angel. Klaus from The Vampire Diaries/Originals as a preppy pretty boy. Lesbian ghosts!).
ETA: Wow, I really was just a lump of angst, wasn't I?
