What are some of your favourite numbers of all time? Who did your favourite performance? Who did a performance that mightn't be your favourite per se but you still find really interesting and enjoyable and different?
YouTube links are not only accepted but fallen upon with cries of joy and gratitude.
I have lots and lots of favourite musical theatre songs, but one of my favourites is "Easy As Life" from Elton John and Tim Rice's pop rock musical adaptation of Aida. This is slightly strange as Aida is DEFINITELY NOT one of my favourite musicals of all time. But I just really love this song, and I always have. I have sometimes fallen into YouTube wormholes, watching performances of it by Aidas ranging from Michelle Williams on Broadway to some random white teenage girl with cornrows in a high school gym in front of a cardboard set.
This is the original Aida, Heather Headley. I love a lot about this performance, especially the anger.
